OUR STORY

The genuine story of 5 fives brothers building what many call "a living dream." Mario Palacios Alvarez,  Rafael Alvarez , Emmanuel Alvarez, Beto Alvarez and Salvador Alvarez. Our story started off in June 1999 when we opened My Little Mexican Cafe at the intersection of Roland Avenue and Clark Avenue, SouthEast San Antonio, where we stayed for nearly 3 years-to-date. with a goal to bring San Antonio and surrounding areas a taste of Jalisco & San Miguel de Allende Guanajuato, , Mexico , where all the brothers originally are from ,In August ,2001 El Jalisco Mexican Restaurant (#1) was started by brothers Salvador, Rafael, and Mario Alvarez, from San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. The Alvarez brothers Salvador, Rafael, and Mario who have been featured in several magazines have had many years of experience cooking authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex food. With El Jalisco, there are no secrets to our success, we believe in using quality, fresh ingredients nothing is kept overnight and you can smell and taste the difference in each and every bite. If you are in the mood for Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine that’s unlike anything you’ve tasted before visit El Jalisco Mexican Restaurant.Though brothers Manuel Alvarez & Alberto ("Beto") Alvarez partnered up, Manuel in 2004 and Beto in 2006, The Alvarez brothers continued their legacy when on May 12th, 2008, they opened El Jalisco # 2 in Schertz, Texas, minutes from Randolph Air Force Base. The Alvarez Brothers' for the first time ever added a 3rd location and this time a location that serves alcohol in Spring Branch , Texas, in March 2018, with brother Mario Alvarez leading and expanding this location. What started off as something considerably small, however, bringing in nothing but 100% Authentic Mexican Cooking & Tex-Mex in its' combination, with the partnership and hardwork has brought now nearing 25 years of an amazing recipe that is known now more than its' name El Jalisco. Keeping the story in Spring Branch, Texas, Mario purchased the property and rebuilt and designed what he proudly introduces in keeping the original name, yet securing Spring Branch, Texas as a signature location in his side of the story.
